How to Get a Red Carpet Look For Under $20

Later this week I will be traveling to New York. I am TOTALLY excited because so many things will be happening while I am there. I have always wanted to see New York — it’s on my bucket list . Places like Ground Zero, Ellis Park and The Statue of Liberty, Times Square — they are all places I want to see, and I am going to get too! So excited!

I will also be meeting some actors from the new movie Marvel’s The Avengers while I am at the Tribeca Film Festival. I get to interview 2 key characters in the movie — “Loki” played by Tom Hiddleston and S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill played by Cobie Smulders. I am beyond excited about that!

After the interviews, we are heading straight to the red carpet premier of Marvel’s The Avengers. Do you want to see what I’m wearing? I got this cute little number in a thrift store. It was hanging there calling my name!!

Don’t you just love it? The shoes were free ( I used a Kohl’s cash certificate that I had and got the shoes to make my dress pop)! What really makes my dress pop though is the belt that I received courtesy of Belt Is Cool. They heard I was looking for the perfect accessory and agreed to send me one.  So — my entire outfit cost me only $13. I will be adding some gorgeous jewlery and hair accessories (which are only going to cost me $7) so my entire red carpet look is going to cost me $20!! Don’t you just love it??

As a mom, I don’t get to dress up too often, so when I do get the chance I like to go “all out”. Speaking of going all out, a lot of women may think that Marvel’s The Avengers is more of a guy movie, but I tend to disagree. I love a good action movie — one that keeps me on the edge of my seat and I know that from this clip it will do just that (plus I love Samuel L. Jackson)

The movie opens in theaters May 4th so make plans to attend. Even though I am getting to see it early, when I get home, I’m taking my family to see it as well!
