Before we went to Ground Zero when we arrived in New York, Emily, Lauren, and I headed on foot downtown to check out Times Square. The walk was only about 20 minutes and I enjoyed seeing all the cool buildings and billboards while walking downtown.

The architecture of these buildings were just amazing. Very detailed and every single one was tall — I mean really tall! The streets were crowded with people, but no so bad that you could not walk without bumping into someone.

The one thing I noticed on my walk to Times Square was that there were not many over weight people there. Tons of New Yorkers walk almost everywhere they go (and I honestly DO NOT blame them because the cab rides there are scary).

You could tell when you were getting close to Times Square because the billboards got flashier and brighter and the atmosphere on the street changed drastically!

The animated Earth was pretty darn cool. I stood there and watched it for a minute and was mesmerized by it. Yeah–it doesn’t take much to entertain men :)

Of course, being a FanGirl, I had to take a photo in front of the HUGE Toys R Us store and their neat Avengers Display!

Of course, I met Elmo on my way down to Times Square. It cost me $1.00 to get my pic with him, but it was truly worth it!

Then a little further down the road, we found another cool Avengers display in the Aeropostale store.

And then we arrived. Billboards were flashing everywhere! It was extremely overwhelming and my head was snapping everywhere trying to take it all in. I like flashy lights :)

The trip to Times Square was amazing and I would have loved to kept walking further down, but we had to be at Ground Zero soon so we caught a cab and headed on over there.

But not before we visited the Disney Store! :)

Where would you visit if you went to New York?
