Be Content

It’s amazing that when you teach little kids a Sunday School lesson that God begins to show you a lesson that you need to learn as well. That is what happened to me on Sunday when I was teaching the little ones what it means to “Be content”.

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

God wants us to realize that all we need can be found in Him. It’s okay to want things. It’s ok to buy things, but those things should not be where our contentment lies. Our contentment lies with God.

He will always be there when the next cell phone comes out.

He will be there when the next money making opportunity arises.

He will be there when a relationship fails.

God will always be there.

When He says to live free from the love of money, He just means that money should not be what we are all about. He is what we should be all about.

I urge you today to learn to be content with what you have. Look to God for your fulfillment and not the world and its possessions
