I LOVE game shows. Heck — I love anything that has to do with games. I can’t help it, I am just a very competitive person
(ask my hubby, he will tell you!). That is why I am totally excited about a new game show that is airing on GSN on August 23rd – Beat the Chefs.
Hosted by American Idol finalist Matt Rogers (“Coming Home”), BEAT THE CHEFS is an hour-long show in which everyday people who love to cook set out to prove that their family recipes are worth prize money and bragging rights. Each week, the show pits homegrown talents against three professional chefs as they cook the same dish—from firehouse chili to Grandma’s famous chicken and dumplings—with one question in mind: Whose tastes the best? A panel of critics will judge and decide if the amateurs can “beat the chefs.”
The professional chefs in this case are: Beau MacMillan (chef of Sanctuary in Phoenix), Antonia Lofaso (former Top Chef particpant) and Jeff Henderson ( from Food Network’s The Chef Jeff Project).
I had the privilege of watching the first episode. I LOVED it! Beau has always been one of my favorite professional chefs and he really made the show come alive with his jeering between him and the amateur teams. The meals that were cooked on this episode were scrumptious looking and made me want to jump in the kitchen and start cooking!
I also loved the host, Matt Rogers. He was one of my favorite contestants on American Idol. I hope to hear him sing while he hosts Beat the Chefs.
I already know that I will be tuning in to other episodes and won’t miss the first episode that airs on August 23rd at 9:00pm eastern time. If you love cooking and game shows and are a totally competitive person, you will not want to miss it either!
Tune in to GSN August 23rd at 9:00pm eastern for the premiere episode of “Beat the Chefs”
