Suzanne is one of my absolute favorite authors in the world. I love all her Amish Romance Fiction books. She has a way of showing their lifestyle without sugar coating it and making it sound all beautiful — because, their life is sometimes very hard — even for them.
I love the book The Lesson. Mary Kate reminds me of myself when I was just 19. I wanted adventure and travel, but chose family life instead. Now I am glad that I did, but at the time I thought otherwise.
About the book:
Sometimes love shows up when you least expect it.
Nineteen-year-old Mary Kate Lapp yearns for adventure, but all she seems to find is trouble. Her dreams of travel have taken a backseat to her assignment to teach school this year. And nothing ever seems to happen in her sleepy Amish community.
But when a sudden and unexplained death conveniently coincides with the arrival of a mysterious young man, M.K. is frustrated that no one takes it seriously. She’s determined to take matters into her own hands and get to the bottom of it. Will she find more than she bargained for?
Centered on one of bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher’s most loved characters, this is the Stoney Ridge story you have been waiting for. With a surprise at every turn, a gentle romance, and a shocking answer to an old family mystery, The Lesson is the dramatic conclusion to the Stoney Ridge Seasons series.

I received a copy of this book in order to write my review. All opinions listed are my own.

Hi! I am Jen--a wife to the most amazing man ever and a homeschool mom to one teenager. I just graduated my oldest.
I have been blogging since 2007. I love to watch movies, spend time in the kitchen, crochet, dance, drink coffee, and lay on the beach. Between recipes, reviews, and hilarious life story moments you'll find many helpful posts on this blog. Welcome, pull up a chair and stay for a while!

Hi Jennifer! I smiled when I read that you felt as if M.K. reminded you of yourself. How wonderful! I know we’d be friends.
Thanks so much for reading my book, writing a review, (you’ve been such a constant support, Jennifer!) and being a part of the blog tour. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to drop by–I had a super busy Christmas (daughter had a baby, son got engaged), and slipped right into January with a manuscript due in as “Lesson” was releasing. Just getting caught up now. But…I am grateful! More grateful than you might think! Warmly, Suzanne PS Hope you’ll post your review on Amazon if you get a minute!
