About the book:
A new identity may protect her family-but can it protect her heart?
After the loss of her husband and the birth of her baby, Charlotte has had a long, hard year. But she can find no rest from the ghosts of the past and flees to Cheyenne to put the pieces of her life back together.
Wealthy cattle baron and political hopeful Barrett Landry must make a sensible match if he is to be elected senator of the soon-to-be state of Wyoming. He needs someone with connections. Someone without a past. Yet he can’t shake the feeling that Charlotte holds the key to his heart and his future.
Will Charlotte and Barrett find the courage to look love in the face? Or will their fears blot out any chance for happiness?
Jen’s Journey
Amanda Cabot is another author that her writings just completely draw me in to her story that she is sharing. In this book Waiting for Spring, it was no different.
I truly loved the heroine’s strength as she learns to live a single life after her husband’s death. She finds a way to make ends meet and take care of her and her young son David. You will learn an important key factor about David if you decide to read this book, but I do not want to share it with you for fear that I will spoil it!
I liked how from the beginning we knew who the “bad guy” was, so readers can watch all of his creepiness unfold and fear for his showdown with Charlotte. Waiting til the very end to reveal the bad guy kind of ruins it for me, as I like to see how sneaky he is from the beginning.
Many women will be able to identify with Charlotte as a woman who decides to leave her old life behind to start something new and fresh. The only problem is — those old scars tend to show up now and again in your new life and the only way to get them to go away is to deal with them head on.
