I was provided a canvas print to review in exchange for this post. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
When we first moved into the house we are at now — it was a hot mess. There was this horrible light green and baby blue colors on the wall, and this house just felt — COLD. Stephen and I sat down and discussed ways we could dress our new home up on the budget we had, which was not much. Here are 3 ways to dress up your walls on a budget.
3 Ways to Dress Up Your Walls on a Budget
Paint Your Walls
The very first thing you can do is to paint your walls. Nothing updates the look of a home like a coat of fresh paint. I always look for paint in the markdown section. When I was redoing our bathroom, I got a gallon of NICE expensive paint for $7 from Home Depot. It was a color that had been mixed incorrectly, but it was the exact color I wanted.
Shop for decorations at Yard Sales
I love shopping for wall decor at yard sales. Just recently, my daughter and I spent and entire Saturday doing the 400 mile yard sale and scored this gorgeous coffee sign for my kitchen.
This sign only cost $1! I think this was the best score of the entire day. My daughter actually found it for me and she knows how much I love coffee It was perfect for my java inspired kitchen
Family Photos on Canvas Prints
Family photos are a great way to dress up your walls. I take tons of photos and a lot of times, they just sit unused on my computer. However, now I am starting to get them made on canvas prints. I have had more compliments on this photo I recently had done.
I took this when we went on our trip to Chattanooga. After taking the photo, I decided to put it on canvas because I had this one bare wall that needed something. This was the perfect addition — and it was on sale for only $30.
