There is a lady that I know who is one of the most amazing teachers ever. She is kind, considerate, patient, and really cares about the kids in her classroom. She always gives of herself and never expects anything in return, so I decided to make her a Mini DIY Teacher Survival Kit to get her through those rough days when she feels like she is overwhelmed.
I saw this idea once when my kids were in elementary school and I thought it was SO clever. Inside the kit, I have included things like Extra chewing gum, chocolate, cookies, and more. Each item has a specific meaning and purpose behind it.
I purchased the gum and all my supplies from Walmart. It was super easy to grab everything and the 3 pack of gum gave me an extra pack for myself. My problem was deciding which flavor to choose.
To make this kit, all you will need is a cute little bucket, the items you want to include in your bucket (there are SO many to choose from), and a snazzy printable that tells what each item is for.
I chose the following items and sayings for each of them:
To round out your gift, you can print a little prayer card to stick in there as well. It just let’s the teacher know that you care about her and that you are praying for her or him daily.
Shopping for this gift was super easy. I visited my local Wal-Mart and found everything I need to create this cute and thoughtful gift. Each item was inexpensive, so this is a way that I can bless a few teachers who are very important in my life.
I chose Polar Ice Extra Gum simply because I love this flavor. When I need a blast of fresh breath, Extra Polar Ice does the trick for me, so I decided to throw that in the survival kit (you never know when a teacher is going to need to freshen her breath — especially with an unexpected teacher/parent conference).
The next time you need a super quick gift for a teacher, this survival kit would make a great idea!
What about you? What kind of DIY gifts do you make during the holidays?
