I was compensated and given a copy of the book to review. All opinions listed are my own.
When my kids were real little, I gobbled up books that I could find that were interesting and full of adventure. I always made sure that whatever I was buying them also taught them something. It had to be one that held their interest. When I first heard about Young Adventurer’s Alphabet by Benjamin Wallace, I knew that this was exactly that kind of book.
A little background on Benjamin . . .
Benjamin is a father of 3 who loves to write books. In fact, he loves to write books that make you laugh – - and squirt your drink out of your nose! He writes in the wee hours of the morning when everyone else is asleep and loves sharing his work through his two websites — Dumb White Husband and Benjamin Wallace Books.
About the book
While this book is geared for younger kids ages 5-12, my 15 year old daughter found it interesting. There were a lot of facts inside that she learned while browsing the pages.
The illustrations are fun and drawn by Benjamin himself! The writing rhymes which makes it fun to read, but more than that — the book is super educational.
I love how easy a read this book is – but what is more than that — I see it’s educational value. This would be an amazing book to use as part of your History study for homeschooling. Benjamin has a way of bringing out facts in a fun way – and not one that will leave horrible images in your mind (thinking of Cannibals here) :).
