Every year at Christmas, the cat and the dog get new toys. For Tucker, our chihuahua, we get him one small stuffed animal, but for Mittens, our rescue cat, we always go over and above getting her tons of toys because she loves to play.

Okay — those two things might sound like they contradict each other, but I can promise you that the freedom to be spontaneous and scheduling time together all go hand in hand. If your life is anything like mine, it is BUSY — but by carving out special days just to hang out and be together, then that gives you the freedom you need.
During the Christmas season you may want to make use of your blender; especially if you receive one as a present. Using a blender is an excellent way of mixing together juices, soft fruits and vegetables to make some tasty treats.
Of course Christmas recipes you can make in a blender are always welcome over the holidays. It’s a great time to be taking your Breville blender out and being creative. I’ve selected three delicious Christmas creations you can put together.
With 2015 right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about goals and visions we have for our lives. Notice I did not say resolutions? That word means nothing to me — not anymore. I am setting goals for the visions I have of a new and improved me — and you should set goals for the visions you have of the new and improved you. There are many things that you can do, but there are 5 for sure that you can do to help you kickstart 2015.
I am privileged to live about 10 minutes away from the very popular Patti’s 1880′s settlement in Grand Rivers, KY. It is a tourist attraction that takes you back to the 1800′s with food, clothing, decorations and more. Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary by having dinner there and checking out all the Christmas lights and holiday decorations.

Our daughter is in her junior year of high school. Up til now, she has been undecided about what she wants to do, but recently shared with me her desire to go to online art school. She wants to be a comic book designer, or an illustrator for children’s books. I think she has chosen a wonderful career that goes along beautifully with her strengths, but now we have to address the topic that most families hate to address: the college tuition and financial side of it all.
It is time for us to address the financial elephant in the room. →']);" class="more-link">Continue reading
I love making dishes with fresh herbs. During the spring, summer, and fall, I use fresh straight from my garden. When it starts to turn cold, I bring in all the remaining herbs and tie them in bundles and make my own dried herbs. Here’s how I do that.

About 12 years ago we lived in a neighborhood that was FILLED with kids. Every single afternoon our yard was run over with kids from all walks of life playing football, chasing each other, or just sitting around having a good time talking. It was then that my husband and I realized what an amazing ministry we had created without even trying. We decided to take it a step further and provide hot meals and snacks every day for these kids. It was some of the best years of our lives.

Today is my anniversary. I have been married now for 21 years, but have been with my husband for 23 years. He is my rockstar. He is my cheerleader. He is my soulmate. While we plan on going out tonight to celebrate our special day, earlier this week, I decided to surprise him with a simple gift that says “You’re Extra Special to Me”, just because. I used Extra Gum and a few of his favorite things. Here is how I did that. →']);" class="more-link">Continue reading
