The other day I was coming in from being gone for a week in the mountains. Before this time I found myself thinking that my home smelled really good. That was until I came home from this week long trip and stepped in the door. The first thing I was met with was the smell of cat litter coming from my daughter’s room. Then I realized that the dog smell was permeating my home. Before this, I never even knew I was noseblind to the smells in my home.
For a couple of months now, we have been working on creating a beautiful backyard space for us to sit and have company over and just have a place to escape the craziness of life. I have been working with Brylane Home to create that beautiful space and I can finally say — we are done creating that beautiful backyard escape. Here is how you can create one as well.

My husband and son work together doing construction. Sometimes they are doing inside work and they come home smelling like sawdust and wood. But then — there are those times that they come home after being out in the hot sun ALL day and they smell like it too. Needless to say when those times come, I hate doing their laundry — but– I must or they won’t have anything to wear.
Kayla and I have been working to make our yard and outside home beautiful. When we first moved into this house, everything was overgrown – including the grass and flowerbeds. We decided to give ourselves a year to weed it all out and get the over growth under control before taking on any planting projects.

Kayla and I have been on an outside decorating spree now for the last few weeks. We have now lived in this house for over a year as of this month and it’s just high time to start making our space liveable and pretty. Our first place we have been sprucing up is our back porch.
Yesterday morning I walked into my bathroom and looked down at the sink and realized it was a hot mess. Then I glanced over at my tub and realized that it was even worse shape. My daughter just had the underlayment of her hair re-dyed purple, so for a few days afterwards, anytime she brushes her hair and it lands on my white sink, I get little tiny purple lines on everything. Since my sink is cluttered with little purple stray marks, I decided to put Mr. Clean Liquid Muscle to the test to see if it could get rid of those nasty purple marks.
Have you ever noticed that when mom gets sick the whole house falls apart? I really caught it yesterday when I woke up at 3 am with serious stomach pains. I thought I had eaten something that maybe didn’t agree with me, or that I had gotten food poisoning, but after a few hours and I started running a fever I realized that I was down with the stomach bug.
Isn’t it amazing how our whole houses fall apart when us moms get sick?
