When my daughter was in 3rd grade, she was the target of her first bully. Being in 3rd grade, your whole world comes crashing down when someone has problems with you — and for my daughter, she was heartbroken that someone would choose to pick on her. The girl that was the bully was 3 times bigger than any of the other kids in her class, and honestly looked like she belonged in 6th grade instead of 3rd grade. I talked to my daughter and we decided that we would show love rather than hate to this young lady, so here is what we did.

When I was in middle school, I did not care about school at all. In fact, I almost flunked out of 8th grade math. That mentality stayed with me all throughout that year and I also carried with me into my first year of high school. I remember sitting in that Intro to Algebra 1 class thinking — “I hate school. I hate math. Why do I even need to be here?”. It was then, that my math teacher — Susan Scott– saw something in me that I did not see in myself, and she pushed me to do better, to be better – to try to succeed. It is because of her that I learned to love math and found myself making straight A’s in her class. Yes — teachers change lives.

I never had sinus issues until I gave birth the first time. The first time I was hit with a sinus headache, I thought my head was going to explode. In fact, my issue with my sinuses got SO bad, that many times, I had to stay home and rest when my husband and kids would go out to go to the park.

We have been dying to get Mittens her very own cat tower. She loves to lay high atop anything that is in the house and look down. It’s just in her nature, so we started looking in the stores to find her the perfect cat tower. Little did I know a cat tower WILL break the bank — seriously! Have you seen the cost of these things lately? After doing some research at different stores, we decided to try shopping online and found some great coupon codes to use at PromotionalCodes.com.

Every year I am always looking for the perfect gift to give my daughter. She is different than most teenage girls her age. She is unique and is not afraid of what people think about her. She loves Jesus more than her own life, and tries to live her life pleasing unto God. For this mom, that does my heart good.
I was recently introduced to a magazine that is created just for teenage girls, and honestly — I think that this would make a very good Christmas gift for her. Let me tell you about Sisterhood Magazine.
